Safety Score FAQ Kia Connect FAQ Kia Connect Store FAQ AllDayEnergy FAQ
  • General Questions

    What is AllDayEnergy?

    • AllDayEnergy is an integrated vehicle-to-everything (V2X) energy service leveraging EV charging/discharging technology to transform your vehicle into an intelligent energy asset.

Is my Kia EV eligible for the AllDayEnergy?

Currently, the following EV models are supported for AllDayEnergy:

    • EV2 (2026+ i.e. all model years)

    • EV3 (2025+ i.e.  all model years)

    • EV4 (2026+ i.e all model years)

    • EV5 (2026+ i.e all model years)

    • EV6 (2025+ i.e all model years)

    • EV9 (2024+ i.e. all model years)

    • PV5 (2026+ i.e. all model years)

What chargers are compatible with AllDayEnergy?

    • AllDayEnergy (V1G) is compatible with all Level 2 (Mode 3) AC home wallbox chargers.

    • The service optimizes charging by communicating directly with the connected Kia vehicle, so a specific smart charger model is not required.

Which energy suppliers are currently supported by AllDayEnergy?

    • To use AllDayEnergy, you must have a valid energy contract with the supported partner energy supplier.

    • At present, OVO Energy is the official energy retailer partner for the AllDayEnergy service in the UK. (As of July 2026)

    • For the latest information on eligibility requirements, supported energy tariffs, and service availability, please refer to the Kia Connect Europe website.

  • Features & Integrations

    Does AllDayEnergy support Solar Charging?

    • No. Solar Charging is not currently supported by AllDayEnergy.

    • At present, AllDayEnergy only offers V1G (smart charging) functionality. The service optimizes vehicle charging schedules based on eligible smart charging parameters and supported electricity tariffs.

How AllDayEnergy can integrate or work together with other 3rd party smart charging apps?

AllDayEnergy requires control of the vehicle's charging schedule to optimize charging. If you have enabled charging schedules or other smart charging functionality through your charger (wallbox), or third-party applications, these may interfere with AllDayEnergy's charging plans.

    Examples include :
    • Charger-based scheduled charging
    • Third-party smart charging or energy management apps
    • Other automated charging optimization services

Such configurations may result in :
    • Charging sessions starting or stopping at unexpected times
    • Failure of AllDayEnergy optimization
    • Reduced charging cost savings
    • Inconsistent charging behavior

To ensure AllDayEnergy works correctly, we recommend disabling all other charging schedules and smart charging services before activating AllDayEnergy.

What is the difference between Scheduled Charging and AllDayEnergy in Kia App?

Scheduled Charging and AllDayEnergy are both smart charging features, but they serve different purposes:

    • Scheduled Charging is a standard charging feature that allows you to set preferred charging times. It can be used at any charging location.

    • AllDayEnergy is Kia's enhanced smart charging service that automatically optimizes charging based on electricity tariffs and grid conditions. It currently operates only at your registered home location.

  • Setup & Recommended Usage

What are the recommended EV settings for the best AllDayEnergy performance?

To achieve the best smart charging performance with AllDayEnergy, we recommend the following vehicle and charging setup:

Turn off any charging schedules configured in :

    • The Kia vehicle (Scheduled charging)
    • Your home charger (wallbox)
    • Third-party charging or energy management apps

    • Scheduled charging and other smart charging services may interfere with AllDayEnergy's optimization.
    • Avoid Manual Start/Stop Charging Controls
    • Do not manually start or stop charging while AllDayEnergy is managing the charging session.

Frequent manual intervention may impact the optimizer's ability to follow the planned charging schedule.

Do I need to use Smart Charging sessions to benefit from my energy tariff rewards?

    • Yes . Smart Charging is activated by default when AllDayEnergy is enabled, and only the electricity charged during Smart Charging sessions is eligible for tariff credits, rewards, or other benefits provided by your energy supplier.

    • If you bypass Smart Charging (for example, by using Urgent Charging), the charging session may not qualify for the associated smart charging benefits.

  • Charging Behavior & Smart Charging Logic

How does AllDayEnergy determine whether I am charging at home?

    • AllDayEnergy uses the home location you selected during setup to identify eligible charging sessions. A charging session is considered to be at home only when the vehicle is located within approximately 100 meters (latitude/longitude deviation) of the registered home location.

    • If the vehicle is parked and charged outside this geofencing radius, the charging session may not be recognized as a home charging session and AllDayEnergy optimization may not be applied.

Why is my charging behavior different from what I expected?

Seeing charging pause, stop, resume, or start later than expected is often a normal part of AllDayEnergy's optimization strategy and does not necessarily mean that charging has failed.

AllDayEnergy continuously optimizes charging based on multiple factors, including:

    • Your selected Ready-By Time
    • Your target State of Charge (SoC)
    • Electricity price signals and tariff information
    • Grid conditions
    • Weather forecasts
    • Vehicle characteristics (e.g., charging capability and battery status)
    • Home charging speed and charger characteristics

    As a result, AllDayEnergy may:

    • Start, stop, and restart charging several times during a charging session.
    • Delay charging even when electricity prices appear low.
    • Temporarily stop charging and resume later.

This behavior is intentional and forms part of the optimization process designed to ensure that the vehicle reaches the desired SoC by the configured Ready-By Time while maximizing the benefits of smart charging.

Can I still change AllDayEnergy settings while a charging session is active?

    • Yes. You can update your AllDayEnergy preferences, such as the Ready-By Time and target State of Charge (SoC), even while a charging session is active.

    • When you change these settings, AllDayEnergy will take the updated preferences into account and may recalculate the charging schedule to ensure your vehicle is charged according to the latest requirements. The optimization process continuously considers user-defined charging preferences when managing charging sessions.

Is it possible to temporarily disable the smart charging mode in AllDayEnergy?

    • AllDayEnergy Smart Charging is enabled by default and cannot be temporarily disabled for a longer period.

    • If you need your vehicle to charge immediately, you can activate Urgent Charging. This temporarily bypasses the AllDayEnergy smart charging optimization and starts charging at the maximum available charging power until the target State of Charge (SoC) is reached. only for the current active session.

    Please note :
    1. Any smart charging benefits, rewards, or tariff credits may not apply once the session is switched to urgent charging mode.
    2. You cannot switch back to Smart Charging during the same charging session. To resume AllDayEnergy optimization, unplug and reconnect the vehicle after the session.

  • Troubleshooting

Why AllDayEnergy banner is not shown when I am charging at home?

    • The "AlldayEnergy" mode is not displayed at all times. It is shown only during a smart charging session .

    • Please check if your EV charger location is within the home area you select during the onboarding.
