Kia Connect FAQ
- Kia Connect is Kia's connected vehicle services designed to provide you with more convenience, comfort, and connectivity.
You can enjoy remote features, vehicle information, and even software upgrades in the palm of your hand using Kia Connect mobile app.
Kia is currently offering a free trial for 3 years for some of the latest models (Eligible models only). For more details, please visit Kia Connect Website (connect.kia.com/mea) or your nearest Kia showroom. - Only vehicles with model year 2026 and onwards support Kia Connect.
Availability may vary depending on your vehicle’s trim and country.
If you purchased your vehicle before June 2025, Kia Connect will not be supported.
To learn more about Kia Connect feature availability for your vehicle, please visit the Kia Connect website (connect.kia.com/mea) or your nearest Kia showroom. - Vehicles purchased before 2025 are not equipped with the necessary hardware (e.g., modem) required for Kia Connect features.
Therefore, Kia Connect is not available for vehicles bought prior to 2025. - You may send commands to your Kia from a different country as long as your mobile device is connected to any network.
However, if your Kia moves out of the registered country, it will NOT be able to receive commands from the Kia Connect App.
Please note that your vehicle only supports Kia Connect in the registered country.
On the other hand, the Digital Key will continue to work in other countries. - 1. Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Search for Kia Connect and install the app.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to create your Kia Connect account. - You can check the list of compatible devices using the link here
Currently, the Kia Connect App is not supported on smartwatches.
However, you can use the Digital Key with the latest smartwatches to access basic remote functions, such as remote engine start. - Kia will introduce a subscription-based pricing plan after the free trial period.
You will be notified when your free trial is about to expire.
For now, simply enjoy the free service period for the first 3 years. - 1. Before selling your kia, Make sure to unlink your vehicle from Kia Connect App. You can do this through the Kia Connect App.
2. Delete your Digital Key profile to ensure all Digital Keys are removed. You can remove the Digital Key from your digital wallet (Samsung Wallet or Apple Wallet). - The Kia Connect Support Center can assist you in removing the existing account from your vehicle.
Please send a screenshot of your vehicle registration along with a valid government-issued
ID to the following email address: - kiaconnectsupport@kia.ae - Only vehicles with model year 2026 and onwards support Kia Connect.
Availability may vary depending on your vehicle’s trim and country.
Call the Kia Connect Call Center and provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). A Kia Connect agent will check this information for you.
Alternatively, you can check directly from your vehicle's screen to see if it is equipped with Kia Connect.
If your vehicle has Kia Connect, the screen will display a network signal strength icon.
- To enroll in Kia Connect, simply download the Kia Connect App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your account.
- With In-Vehicle registration, you can only enjoy the limited features such as navigation, over the air updates, etc.
In order to use the full services Kia Connect offers, create an account and register your vehicle via Kia Connect App. - You can add your vehicle after creating a Kia Connect account. Once your Kia Connect account is created, open the app and tap on "Add Vehicle."
You can add your vehicle via:-
Scanning the QR code from your vehicle.
The QR code can be found in the [Modem Information]
After scanning the QR code, a "Verification Code" will appear on your vehicle’s screen.
Enter the verification code in your Kia Connect App. - Entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) manually. You can also input the VIN manually if preferred.
Once you complete the process, your vehicle will appear in the app, and you will be ready to use the remote control features. -
Scanning the QR code from your vehicle.
- Once your vehicle is registered in your Kia Connect account, you can share access to your vehicle with family and friends.
- Go to 'More' and 'Select vehicle'.
- Click on the arrow '>' next to your registered vehicle.
- Enter the mobile number of the user you want to share access with.
- Set a 4-digit PIN and share it with the user you want to grant access to.
Both users need to be logged into the Kia Connect App. Make sure notifications are enabled. - To delete your vehicle from your Kia Connect account, follow these steps:
- Go to 'More' and select 'Vehicle'.
- Choose the vehicle you want to delete.
- Tap the trash icon to remove the registered vehicle from your account.
- Go to 'Account' and select 'Terminate Account’.
Terminating your account will permanently delete all your personal information from Kia Connect, and it cannot be recovered.
- Digital Key 2.0 feature allows the driver lock/unlock the door of the vehicle without a traditional car key.
The Digital Key can be stored and accessed through your smartphone (using the Kia Connect App or Wallet app) or compatible smartwatches, and provides a convenient, secure way to control your vehicle without needing a physical key. It also offers added security features, such as the ability to limit access to certain functions (e.g., remote start) for added protection.
The availability of Digital Key vary by the model, spec, and country.

Please check compatible devices list here - One vehicle can share up to 8 Digital Keys, including the registered owner.
- Kia Digital Key 2.0 uses NFC and Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology.
No network coverage is required after the initial setup.
With Ultra-Wideband (UWB), you don't need to take your phone out of your pocket to access the vehicle. - Yes. The owner can navigate to their native wallet app to view the list of shared users and revoke access by canceling the shared Digital Key.
- The verification code expires after 3 minutes.
Please make sure to use the code before it expires.
If you request a new verification code, the previous one will no longer be valid. - You can continue using your account on a different smartphone.
Just make sure to delete the Kia Connect App from your old phone before selling or giving it to someone else. - If your smartphone is stolen, you can call the Kia Connect Call Center to request restrictions on any use of the Kia Connect App from the stolen device
For Digital Key, you can remove vehicle access in one of the following ways:- Delete the Digital Key access from your vehicle's screen, or
- Report the stolen phone through your device manufacturer's website.
- Only vehicles with model year 2026 and onwards support Kia Connect.
Availability may also vary depending on your vehicle's specifications.
If you purchased your vehicle before June 2025, Kia Connect will not be supported.

To remotely start your vehicle:
All doors, the trunk, and the hood must be closed.
The vehicle must be locked and in Park mode.
To remotely charge your vehicle:
The vehicle must be plugged in.
If the vehicle has not been turned on in the past 14 days, its systems may shut down to conserve battery power.
In this case, remote commands will not be executed. - The horn and lights will automatically turn off after 2 minutes.
If you wish to stop them earlier, you can do so by sending a Lock or Unlock remote command through the app, or by manually locking or unlocking the vehicle with your key.
- Valet Mode in Kia Connect is a feature designed to protect your vehicle from misuse when you hand it over to a valet or another person for temporary use.
When activated, you can monitor vehicle driving information through the Kia Connect App, such as location, driving distance, time, and top speed.
You can deactivate Valet Mode through the Kia Connect App. - Stolen Vehicle Recovery (SVR) is a connectivity-based service available to Kia Connect users.
Users can access this feature by contacting the Kia Connect call center and requesting assistance with a stolen vehicle.
If the customer is eligible for SVR, Kia will require the submission of a police report and will work with law enforcement to assist in the recovery of the vehicle.
In some cases, Kia may also assist with vehicle immobilization.
In case your vehicle is enrolled in Kia Connect and is stolen, follow these steps:- Contact the police and file a police report.
- Obtain a copy of the official police report.
- Contact the Kia Connect Call Center or send an email with the official police report and your vehicle registration.
- You may request assistance with immobilizing the stolen vehicle.
- The owner will receive a notification in the Kia Connect App if the vehicle enters or exits a restricted area.
The user can set up the restricted area using the Kia Connect App.
- Kia places the highest priority on protecting customer information.
All customer data is managed in accordance with Kia's strict security policies.
Your personal information is never used for any purpose other than to provide convenient services through Kia Connect.
All personal data is encrypted and is only collected with your explicit consent. - The vehicle’s location is accessed only to provide location-based services requested by the customer, such as Find My Car, Stolen Vehicle Recovery, and Geo-Fence Alerts.
It is not used for any other purpose beyond delivering these convenient services.
Additionally, Kia Connect users can easily disable location-based services through the app.
You can also completely turn off GPS tracking from the vehicle’s screen.
Please note that disabling GPS will limit the functionality of Kia Connect services.
